Wasn't mentioned in the announcement, so most likely not.

Meh I liked it 8v8 I'd rather have a 10v10. This is basically TA with 2 extra ppl.

To all the above who are saying they are going to quit.... empty threat. I bet you log in, try it out, like something about it and continue playing. To those who actually try it out and then quit... well at least you tried. Anet can't please everybody all the time, but im pretty sure they please most players all of the time.

6 vs 6... Thats so. Its just not a large enough scale battle. How about 12 vs 12?

I hate when people freak out and say things like "oh man, now i have no reason to play, GW is ruined11!" For the people who love HA, all this means is that build design needs to be changed a bit, people need to come up with new ideas. This changes things, but its still the same HA. Just think outside the box you built around yourself and the build you always run, and come up with a new winning build.

People say this will introduce gimmick builds? hello? every time i HA its the same old crap: IWAY, ViMway, blood spike, R spike, sometimes a duel smite. Thats it. This will hopefully shake things up, as for fotm and gimmick builds, well hell, it CANT get any worse in that regard than it already is.

That's really the point. Every team is going to face these changes, so now it's not possible (or at least more difficult) to cover all the bases. You do one thing, but give up something else. Holding/Stall Builds are going to have a much tougher time now. Strategies will have to change and builds will have to change. And change is good, considering how little HA has over the past year.

I missed the 6vs6 weekend so I can't give a personal opinion about whether this is good or bad.

But to me it seems that upon analzying this situation it becomes clear that:

Most/all of the good and high ranked PVP players hate this change vehemently.

Most/all of the bad and low ranked or unranked PVP players and/or mainly PVE players love this change.

Given that, I don't see why Anet would want to have done something like this. Making most/all of the best PVP players upset surely can't be a good way to encourage future PVP customers.

thats not the problem, the problem is that in 6v6 you dont have enough build options to counter for those gimmicks.... HA is supposed to be a place where u must make that build that is the most complete and has the most options... thats maybe a new concept for all those that only play gimmicks, but for all the ppl that actually play HA it has some meaning...
HA based guilds are gonna be either destroyed or become GvG... nice... Anet always bragged about letting the players choose what they want to do... why the hell do they decide to REMOVE one PvP mode that has a high competitive level like HA has... well its plain ridiculous... If anet wanted to make the ppl happy about a new 6v6 pvp mode, why dont they make that 6v6 mode part of nightfall ? instead of creating a Bot vs Bot mode...
Bah... I dont really care about what ppl in this forum write.. more than 80% of ppl that say they liked 6v6 HA didnt dedicated 1/4 the time i dedicated to this game in the past year...

I say im proud of Anet for making the change. For all of you Complaining about the Thumperway, Necro Spike, Smiteway, etc. this is pretty much what weve been seing in 8v8 HA anyway, so what difference does it make. Now well have a chance to try something new. About the double fame, it doesnt rly matter, cuz matches dont last more than 2-4 (most of the time at least) mins so the fame will be flowing for the good grps ( just hope ur one of them).

GOOD CHANGE IMO!!

The announcement is a load of crap. The only reason 6v6 was as popular as it was, was due to 2x fame So you could bet your grandmother that was what drew all the people in. ALL that was needed was some new maps and some variations to game types.

"6-man in time will bring more build variation" Sorry, but no. Less people=Less room for variation. People Think there's too many IWAY/VIMWAY now? It will be the exact same way as soon as people figure out what works and switch to that setup instead.

And no, I don't want to go to GvG for my 8v8. GvG is a COMPLETELY different style of play from HA. I don't not GvG because HA doesn't require a guild (Though I'm sure there are a few out there who do) I HA because I like the playstyle there, just like the people in SO many of the HA guilds out there.

Of the 8 guildies on line now for me, 6 of them Said they didn't like it/Couldn't wait for 8v8 again, 1 Said it wasn't bad, 1 wasn't here for it.

GvG guilds? You can bet your grandfather they'll like 6v6. Gives them something to do when they're a few short of 8 people and they don't want to guest a couple person. So yea it's nice, but we sure as hell better not completely butcher a game type to cater to the GvG crowd.

Elem AoE fleeing effect: OMFG Anet you suck, I'm gonna quit this stupid game !

Warrior Armor/Shield Nerf/Fix: OMFG Anet, you are ruining the game, I'm donne with this piece of crap !

6 vs 6 HA: Two words: GG Gaynet. 6-man metagame was complete crap. If they only changed the maps, i'd jump ecstatitcally and yell "wheeee!", but changing HA to 6-man will probably make me quit

There we go again. *sigh*
